The Wakatipu branch of the New Zealand Mountain Safety Council has finalised the dates for its winter avalanche awareness training courses.
Wakatipu mountain safety co-ordinator Bridget Newman said the courses taught "essential" back-country skills for snowboarders, skiers and climbers who ventured into areas where no avalanche control work was carried out.
