Nasa's super balloon will not be launched tomorrow.
Nasa advised this morning that the launch attempt was off.
"At the moment the winds in the stratosphere are making the balloon trajectory unacceptable but the Nasa team is continuing to monitor the weather patterns closely", a spokeswoman for Nasa said.
The three key considerations for an optimal launch day were: the surface weather (ranging from ground level to 400m); the safety analysis of the balloon's flight trajectory from Wanaka to the east coast of New Zealand; and the what the balloon was predicted to do in the stratosphere.
An update regarding a possible launch on Wednesday will be issued by 2pm tomorrow.
