A Queenstown bar manager has been charged with assault after an attack police have described as vicious and prolonged.
Police were alerted to CCTV footage of the assault, which occurred on October 17, and arrested the bar manager manager today.
He was charged with assault with intent to injure.
Another staff member is also expected to be charged.
Sergeant Blair Duffy said the victim was removed from the Cow Lane bar and assaulted, then "dragged further down Cow Lane where he has received further punches to the head''.
The manager will appear in Queenstown District Court on November 5.
