Arrowtowner Kelvin Perriman’s 35 years’ service to St John — now almost 37 years — was recognised at its recent district awards night in Cromwell.

He’s pictured receiving a certificate from South Island trust board chairwoman Ann Shepherd.

Perriman began as a volunteer ambulance officer in Dunedin in 1989, becoming a paid officer there in ’93.

He was St John’s Queenstown district ops manager from ’99 to 2002, advocating at the time for a new station, then served as Queenstown area manager from 2012 for four years.

He remains a volunteer ambulance officer and serves as an emergency management technician for Queenstown and Central Otago.

Highly respected among his peers and the wider community, Perriman is also a volunteer with the Arrowtown fire brigade.
