The young Wakatipu members of Corus Children's Choir were on song in St Peter's Parish Hall on Wednesday at their second weekly rehearsal for ''a Christmas gift to Queenstown'', musical director Emma Wilson (seated front) says.

The 24 talents, aged 7 and up, will sing by themselves and with the 30 adults of the Queenstown Community Choir, who will also sing by themselves, for ''The Spirit of Christmas'' in the Red Barn market venue, near Remarkables Park Town Centre, on December 7 at 4pm.

The concert will be a mixture of traditional carols such as Hark! the Herald Angels Sing, New Zealand standards, including Te Harinui, and modern but less familiar songs such as Hurry Little Pony.

Mrs Wilson has arranged Away in a Manger for both choirs to sing.

Older choristers will perform The Dunstan Carol, written by supporting musical director and piano player Mark Wilson (seated front).

Admission to the Nativity-themed concert will be free for all.

Gold coin donations will be welcomed in aid of Wakatipu Victim Support.

''If people want a proper Christmas, this is it,'' Mrs Wilson said.
