The Hills will soon be alive with the sound of music, with two concerts scheduled at the championship golf course in Arrowtown in the next month.
The Hills event co-ordinator Julie Scott said the Jade String Quartet, which is comprised of players from the Auckland Philharmonic Orchestra, will perform in the clubhouse next Saturday as part of the 2009 ASB Jazzfest.
That would be followed by the NZ Trio's concert on November 13.
The Jade String Quartet features Miranda Adams (violin) William Hanfling (violin), Canadian Robert Ashworth (viola) and Claudia Price (cello).
The NZ Trio - violinist Justine Cormack, cellist Ashley Brown and pianist Sarah Watkins - appeared at last year's Beijing Modern Music Festival and this year's Shanghai Spring Festival.
The Hills owner, Michael Hill, also hoped to arrange a concert by Dame Malvina Major.
About 65 tickets will be available for the concerts. Tickets cost $65, and the price includes a glass of champagne and canapes.
