A male cyclist is attended to by emergency services personnel after he was knocked off his bike by a van near Luggate yesterday afternoon.
Police said sunstrike might have contributed to the crash on the Wanaka-Luggate highway, opposite Shortcut Rd, about 4pm.
The man, thought to be in his mid-40s, was in a serious condition and was airlifted from the Wanaka Medical Centre to Dunedin Hospital.
The driver of the van was assisting police with their inquiries, Senior Constable Mike Johnston said.
