Driver faces charges

A 48-year-old Queenstown man faces several charges, including drink-driving, after allegedly failing to stop for police early yesterday.

At 12.50am, after a vehicle was seen weaving within its lane in central Queenstown, the man allegedly failed to stop for police.

When he stopped later, on Frankton Rd, he allegedly resisted police.

Sergeant Tracy Haggart said the man was charged with failing to stop, driving with a breath-alcohol level of 901mcg, resisting police and a petrol theft "drive-off'' in December in Timaru.
