All the favourites - such as the ball, scarecrow competition, Art 2 Wear and rubber duck race - have been included in the 30th anniversary programme of the Arrowtown Autumn Festival.

Announced last week, the programme consists of more than 50 events over 12 days.

This year's festival begins on April 24 with the opening of an art exhibition at the Lakes District Museum and ends on May 4 with several events during the day, culminating in a variety show at 7.30pm in the Athenaeum Hall.

There will be a parade, pie and pint festival, and various community favourites such as tree and historical walks.

A programme from 1986, two years after the first festival, lists events such as a gold light disco for young people, street dance carnival, fashion parade, barber's shop quartet heats and a drama and debate session.
