The Queenstown Lakes district's third concert in the space of a week is on target to sell its projected ticket total of 15,000, according to organisers.

The Gibbston Valley Winery will host the Doobie Brothers and Little River Band this Saturday and the winery's sales and events manager Kelly Cruickshank said they were happy with ticket sales in the lead-up to the concert.

The concert has had to compete with other acts in the region such as last weekend's Creedence Clearwater Revisited concert at the Queenstown Events Centre, which attracted more than 900 people.

Across the highway from the MoreFM winery, the Summer Winery Tour featuring the John Butler Trio will play on Thursday at the Peregrine Winery.

Concert promotion co-ordinator Liselle Finlay said ticket sales had been going "really well" and she expected a strong turnout.

Other acts at Peregrine will include New Zealand artists Annabel Fay, Tiki Tane, the Sweet Mix Kids as well as Aloe Blacc and the Grand Scheme.

Tickets had been selling for $79, but Ms Finlay said they could be purchased for $90 at the gate.

The Classic Hits Winery tour will visit the Olssen's Vineyard in Cromwell on Tuesday, February 21, with artists Gin Wigmore and the Mutton Birds.

Sales of tickets for the Doobie Brothers and Little River Band have not faltered and Miss Cruickshank was expecting 15,000 people.

Four Otago bands will open on Saturday from 1pm, including local Wakatipu talents the Station Agents and Dubside, whose members have come through Wakatipu High School.

Rock Formation Charitable Trust chairman Justin Edens said they were well and truly up to the task of opening for the big acts.

Country singers Cruise Control, of Cromwell, will also play on Saturday before the main acts Little River Band and the Doobie Brothers play at 3pm and 5pm respectively.

Tickets can be purchased for $89.
