Gun Club president Rex Smart said they were expecting more than 100 gun fans and past club members to attend the Waitangi Day event on February 6.
Wanaka residents Ray Anderson and Peter Cooke will be made honorary life members at the gathering.
Mr Anderson has been a member of the club for more than 40 years.
He joined shortly after he received a shotgun from his grandmother on his 21st birthday.
Mr Cooke started shooting in Waikouaiti "during the '60s" and became a member at the Wanaka Gun Club after moving to the resort in 1986.
Mr Smart recently made the New Zealand "McIntosh" team (also known as "The Shooting All Blacks") for clay skeet targets for the third consecutive year.
He said the response from past gun club members for the anniversary had been staggering.
The anniversary celebrations will include a shoot at the gun club's headquarters, followed by a formal dinner at the Wanaka Bowling Club on February 6.
