While adults went back to work, the fun was starting for children in the Queenstown After School Holiday Programme yesterday.

The programme, one of two Out of School Care and Recreation programmes in the resort, began with seven children making picture frames out of recyclable material.

Baking, swimming, arts and crafts, drama, afternoon teas, plus indoor and outdoor games were scheduled for the rest of the month.

Queenstown After School Care Ltd owner Jane Scheib operates out of the basement of the Queenstown Primary School hall.

Ms Scheib said 30 children, who either resided in town or were on holiday, were signed up for different days of the month and some places were still available.

A week's enrolment costs $140, from 8.30am to 5.30pm.

The casual rate is $30 per day.
