Hunting Bears, Chelsea Smile and more bands yet to be announced will entertain Dux patrons and judges with an eclectic mix of musical styles, dexterity and talent.
The prize package, after two months of eliminations, is recording time at York St Studios, musical equipment from Jansen, Allen and Heath and Audio Technica and opportunities to play live.
Previous Battle of the Bands winners and finalists include Jason Kerrison, frontman of Op Shop, Tadpole and Blindspott.
Heats and semifinals have been running nationwide through June and July, and regional finals will be held at the end of July and in early August.
The national final will be held in Auckland in late August.
Doors open at the Dux at 9pm for the first heat and admission will be free. Bands can register via the Battle of the Bands website.
