Investigations into a Shotover Jet jet-boat crash in November continue but the driver of the crashed boat is back on duty.
On November 22, a commercial jet-boat at one of Queenstown's most popular tourist attractions, Shotover Jet, crashed into a rock face, injuring five of its 14 passengers.
Ngai Tahu Tourism southern region general manager David Kennedy confirmed yesterday the driver, who was stood down after the incident, was back on duty, working full-time.
"He was back on around the second week of December. He was given the green light by the harbourmaster, who is the effective Maritime New Zealand spokesperson," he said.
Maritime New Zealand (MNZ) spokeswoman Sophie Hazelhurst said the agency's investigation was ongoing, and MNZ could not discuss the matter further until the investigation was complete.
