Lakes Leisure appoints acting chief executive

Angus Crawford has been appointed Lakes Leisure acting chief executive and will take up his position today.

Originally from Southland, Mr Crawford was described by the Queenstown Lakes District Council yesterday as a respected business leader with a proven background in strategic leadership as well as organisational growth and sustainability.

Lakes Leisure chairman Mike Saunders said he was pleased to welcome Mr Crawford to the team.

"Mr Crawford will bring a lot of extremely valuable skills and experience to the table during this transition in leadership.

"Thanks to his extensive leadership experience we anticipate he will make an immediate contribution to the company's continued wellbeing."

Lakes Leisure is now recruiting for a chief executive. It is expected Mr Crawford will remain in the role until a permanent appointment is made.

Former chief executive Fiona McKissock said she had completed what she set out to do when she announced her departure after four years in August.
