Working party chairman Charlie Grant said council consultation on the draft strategy had produced a lot of public submissions about a proposed strategy, which will form the basis of a template to shape the future of the township.
"We had a lot of interest in The two "drop-in sessions" in April and May attracted about 80 people.
The formal submission process attracted a further 68 submissions, he said.
The working party was now going through these and discussing appropriate revisions to the strategy.
"We are planning to present the final version of the strategy to the August meeting of the Wanaka Community Board and the September meeting of the Strategy Committee," Mr Grant said.
