Wanaka police have arrested a second man in connection with a tyre-slashing rampage through the resort two months ago.
A 19-year-old Wanaka man will face a charge of criminal damage - alongside an alleged accomplice - in the Queenstown District Court next week, Senior Sergeant Allan Grindell said.
The man was arrested by police after an interview at the Wanaka station yesterday afternoon, Snr Sgt Grindell said.
Police arrested a 20-year-old Wanaka man last week after investigating a series of attacks on 54 vehicles on June 4-5.
Most of the cars parked on roads and at several businesses in Wanaka had tyres pierced.
Several vehicles had also been scratched and had their wing mirrors torn off in the attacks, Snr Sgt Grindell said.
He speculated that the damage caused would have cost "thousands and thousands" of dollars for vehicle-owners.
The two men were bailed to appear in the Queenstown District Court on Monday.
