Five hundred copies of Katie Scott's parents' marriage certificate were used to make a wedding dress which Katie wore on top of another garment - featuring the subsequent divorce certificate.
The 16-year-old's outfits, titled Non Paenitenda (no regrets), won the celebration category of the Art 2 Wear competition at Saturday night's final, held in Arrowtown's Athenaeum Hall as part of the Arrowtown Autumn Festival.
Her paper wedding dress and black corset, made from material with the divorce certificate screen-printed on in white ink, took ''every night and every morning'' of the past month to complete.
Seeing a relative ''over the moon'' after finalising a divorce gave Ms Scott, of Mossburn, the idea for her entry and because her own parents had been through a marriage and divorce ''I thought I would do something with it''.
''My mum said something good may as well come of it.''
