Teen shot with air gun 'progressing favourably'

The teenager who was shot in the head with an air gun last week is "progressing favourably".

The 16-year-old from Glenorchy was taken to Dunedin Hospital by helicopter in a serious condition after he sustained a head injury from an air gun about 6pm on Thursday.

A hospital spokeswoman said the boy was no longer in a serious condition and was "progressing favourably in the general ward".

Circumstances surrounding the shooting were not yet clear, police said.
