World champion freeskier Jossi Wells will be joined by his brother and fellow inter-national professional skier Byron Wells as guests of honour at the ski club benefit evening.
The occasion will also mark a premiere screening of a highlights reel of the Wells boys' achievements, taken from their Winter of Wells internet TV series.
Jossi and Byron were joined by their film-maker friend Tim Pierce last year as the group travelled the international freeski circuit.
Pierce created Winter of Wells - a series documenting the lives of the two professional skiers - as the pair experienced their best seasons of international competition.
The 2009-10 winter culminated in Jossi being crowned world champion freeskier.
The group travelled to top ski locations, competed in the world's biggest free skiing events and met the key personalities behind the sport.
Pierce said Winter of Wells showed the brothers' journey and sporting accomplishments.
Making the documentary had cemented the group's friendships, with the trio "living out of each other's back pockets" during trips to the world's biggest freeski competitions, he said.
Pierce and Jossi both said they were looking forward to seeing the filmed highlights on a big screen with an audience present.
Previously, the filmed episodes had only screened as "small-format" internet media and as in-flight entertainment in Air New Zealand planes, Jossi said.
The Wanaka Ski Club had "been big supporters since back in my ski-racing days", Jossi said.
Billed as an evening of entertainment, music, and dancing, the Winter of Wells benefit event has been timed to coincide with the start of the World Junior Snowboarding and Freestyle Championships.
"We want everyone to join in and celebrate the magnificent achievements of Wanaka's own world champion freeskier," organiser Bonnie Teat said.
Doors open at 7pm on Saturday and tickets cost $25.
Proceeds will go towards Wanaka Ski and Snowsports Club athletes.
