A Queenstown woman and a toddler were taken by ambulance to hospital yesterday morning after their vehicle collided with another, at the intersection of State Highway 6 and Glenda Dr, in Frankton.

At 9.30am police, fire and ambulance services were called to the scene, where a VW Polo hatchback, heading towards Arrowtown, and a black SUV, with a woman driver, woman passenger and the toddler, heading towards Queenstown, had collided.

Sergeant Kate Pirovano, of Queenstown, said while there were no serious injuries, one of the women and the toddler were taken by ambulance to hospital for observation.

The driver of the VW was a 55-year-old Queenstown man.

''People need to be more patient. It's that time of year when you're rushing around,'' Sgt Pirovano said.
