1000 extra seats on Melbourne route

Jetstar is adding another three return services from Melbourne to Queenstown to its summer schedule.

The additional flights, coming into effect from December 13 until January 28, will operate on Tuesday, Fridays and Sundays, leaving Melbourne at 7.20am and arriving in the resort at 12.30pm.

The return services will depart Queenstown at 1.10pm and arrive in Melbourne at 2.45pm.

Jetstar NZ corporate communications manager Phil Boeyen said the flights would add 1000 seats a week to Jetstar's transtasman routes to Queenstown.

The airline has a total of 60 weekly scheduled services to Queenstown from Melbourne, Sydney, the Gold Coast, Auckland and Wellington.

It had previously announced it will double its Queenstown-Wellington return services, to six a week, from late October.
