
Twenty-five Wakatipu and Upper Clutha artists and creative practitioners are throwing open their galleries and studios this Sunday to allow locals and visitors to include one or any number of them on a free self-guided tour.
Three Lakes Cultural Trust’s organised ‘Open Studios & Creative Trails’ as part of a Te Muka Toi, Te Muka Tākata Hui it is currently running.
"Open Studios & Creative Trails is an invitation to get out, explore, meet the people behind the work and see what is being made right here in our communities," trust chief executive Samantha Kirk says.
"It is also a chance to support local creatives, whether that’s buying a piece, starting a conversation, sharing their work or simply taking the time to understand the ideas and stories behind it."
Arrowtown participants include Fiona Garlick, Kirsty Mills, Giraffe Art Gallery’s guest artist Andrew Ross, Jasmine Clark, Anna Claire, Jenny Mehrtens and Tori Beeche.
In Frankton, Country Lane participants include Kim Shaw, Kasia Hebda, Amalia Studio and The Kukupa Collective while Emma Peers is at Te Atamira.
