Glenorchy and Closeburn residents will be without power for 15 minutes tomorrow while Aurora Energy completes an upgrade of overhead lines.

Operations manager John Campbell said the project to upgrade the high-voltage power lines supplying the Glenorchy township began last year, with the installation of foundations above Sunshine Bay.

Poles were installed in April and the company needed to cut power in Closeburn and Glenorchy for the second stage of the upgrade to be completed.

Power would be turned off for 15 minutes from 4.30pm tomorrow, Mr Campbell said.

If the work could not be done then, the planned outage would occur on Thursday, Friday or Saturday, ``at the same time and for the same 15 minute duration''.

Mr Campbell said those using medical equipment which relied on electricity should advise their electricity retailer and contact their health provider, or call 111.
