A three-year relationship between Wakatipu High and a Tahitian college strengthened last week.

For the first time, Wakatipu High year 11 and 12 French language students and their families home-hosted the 26 students from French-speaking Tahiti's College of the Sacre-Coeur.

The visiting students shared their culture and identity through traditional dance performances (left) and, due to their Polynesian culture, also came together with Wakatipu High School’s kapa haka group and its Pasifika students.

They also undertook various tourism attractions during their nine-day visit.

In September, 11 year 12 Wakatipu High School French language students will travel to Tahiti and Moorea to reconnect with the same students and their families.
