Two American sporting superstars have been enjoying an adventure-packed holiday in the south.

Retired IndyCar driver Danica Patrick and her Green Bay Packers quarterback boyfriend Aaron Rodgers have been spending a romantic getaway in New Zealand, checking out Queenstown and Milford Sound.

Ms Patrick took to Instagram to share holiday snaps, including a photo of her bungy jumping in Queenstown and the pair kayaking in Milford Sound.

She revealed her fear of heights in the bungy photo caption, saying the experience didn't quite fix that.

"But I just like to know that if I had to do something uncomfortable, I sure as s**t could.''

She also described Milford Sound as "quite beautiful''.

Our journalists are your neighbours

We are the South's eyes and ears in crucial council meetings, at court hearings, on the sidelines of sporting events and on the frontline of breaking news.

As our region faces uncharted waters in the wake of a global pandemic, Otago Daily Times continues to bring you local stories that matter.

We employ local journalists and photographers to tell your stories, as other outlets cut local coverage in favour of stories told out of Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch.

You can help us continue to bring you local news you can trust by becoming a supporter.
