Wanaka's romantic reputation could be given a boost with popular wedding venue Wanaka Station Park the proposed location for a new rotunda.
At a meeting today, the Wanaka Community Board will consider a proposal for the rotunda.
Wanaka marriage celebrant Bev Clark first called for a rotunda to be built at the lakeside park - a reserve of established gardens at the site of the original Wanaka Station homestead - two years ago.
The proposal, by Queenstown Lakes District Council project manager Annabel Riley, said a structure such as a rotunda or "summerhouse" would become a focal point for weddings and could encourage more use of the park for events.
