Residents in the Queenstown suburb of Quail Rise are being supplied with water after a leak in the main pipe this afternoon.
The Queenstown Lakes District Council said the water would remain off as contractors worked through the night to fix the problem.
Contractors would go door to door with water for those affected, it said.
