Work at the intersection has continued on the western side of SH1/Evans St while moving progressively eastward.
A single lane is operating in each direction through the work site and a 30kmh temporary speed limit has remained.
For northbound traffic access to the Showgrounds Shopping Centre can be made via Bridge Rd.
The shopping centre will continue to operate as usual and businesses will remain open.
Vehicles will still be able to exit out of the development at the intersection as normal.
Access to Grants Rd from SH1/Evans Street remains blocked off but is expected to be restored later this month.
NZTA advised that further traffic disruption was likely over the coming weeks with access adjustments as the project moved towards completion.
Road users should continue to follow the traffic management and directions of signage on site.
