Cash was taken from David Tait Dental Surgery in John St and from Zouave hairdressers in Clyde St between June 2 and 5.
Someone also attempted to enter Milfos in Clyde St, which sells milking machinery.
Acting Detective Sergeant CraigDinnissen said the burglaries could be related to a smash and grab at the Balclutha BP in Clyde St just after 2am on May 11, where a sliding door was smashed and cigarettes taken.
Det Sgt Dinnissen said there had been some leads on the BP case through Crimestoppers.
Police suspect the man pictured to be involved in the BP burglary. He is described as 170cm-180cm tall, of medium build, and wearing dark clothing and black shoes with blue/turquoise side details.
