Lawrence holds its annual heritage day on Sunday, and members of the town’s Tuapeka Vintage Club have been busy putting finishing touches to its wide-ranging exhibits.
Club member Jan Harper said she had recently completed an overhaul of the club’s main entrance, as part of a longer-term project "sprucing up" its displays.
"There used to just be a couple of grey desks with random items on them, so I asked if I could liven things up a bit, and the club gave me the go ahead.
"Thanks to the generosity of our members and donors, we now have some displays of model vehicles and fire service memorabilia, and I’ll gradually be working on further displays along the wall here."

Other items had been dug out of "dusty cupboards".
"It’s surprising what you can find when you have a poke around," she said.
She said cabinets had been "begged, borrowed and stolen" from various sources.
"I used to be a butcher, so I tapped into my display skills for inspiration."
Mrs Harper said the heritage day was the highlight of the year for the club, and for many residents.
This year would retain the day’s tried and tested format.
A tractor display would be held at the Arches, and visitors could enjoy fresh displays of vintage signage and a slide show of the recent Beaumont Bridge construction.
Guest contributors would provide working displays of spinning, wood-chopping, gold panning and more.
Visitors could also walk around the neighbouring Bellview Wetlands Reserve, feed its eels, and picnic in its grounds, while listening to live music.
Proceedings start at 10am Sunday, and entry is free, donations welcomed.
