Organisers are preparing for one of the biggest sporting events on the South Otago calendar tomorrow.
The Papatowai Challenge 15.5km walk and run, and 5.5km ‘‘canter’’, returns for its 29th outing in the Catlins village.
The event typically attracts more than 350 entrants, and founder and patron Wayne Allen described it as an ‘‘achievable challenge’’.
Many of those participating would be returning to notch up their five, 10 and 20-year medals, he said.
Entries can be made online and competitors should be ready to race from noon.
