Police believe a series of burglaries from one end of the Clutha District to the other are linked.
Senior Constable Murray Hewitson, of Owaka, said three holiday homes at Toko Mouth, The Nuggets Rd, near Kaka Point and in Dewe Rd, at Tahakopa, had been burgled and it appeared all incidents were linked.
All three properties targeted were vacant holiday homes which were reasonably isolated from the public eye.
The method of breaking and entering into each of the homes was the same and similar items were taken -
television sets and kitchen items.
A deep-cycle solar battery was also taken from one property.
The size of the battery indicated at least two people were involved.
The perpetrators at the property in Dewe Rd parked their vehicle at the bottom of the driveway and carried items from a distance, Snr Const Hewitson said.
It was unclear exactly when the burglaries took place, as all properties were vacant over the past week. The burglaries had only been discovered over the weekend.
Snr Const Hewitson believed the thieves had travelled from one end of the Clutha District to the other, but he was unsure if they went north then south or vice
versa.
If anyone had seen any suspicious people or vehicles in either of the areas, they were asked to contact police.
