His tireless community service has earned him this week’s Clutha Leader Silver Fern Farms Local Legend award.
Ollie works full-time for St John, volunteers with the Balclutha Fire Brigade and referees premier rugby matches across the region.
"Refereeing is definitely my sport," he said.
He was recently ranked number one in the South Island for his age group at a tournament in Christchurch.
He credits his success to hard work and integrity.
"Being honest is probably the biggest one and being personable," he said.
