Local Legend: Vivienne Fiddes

The Clutha Leader’s Silver Fern Farms Local Legend this week is retired social worker Vivienne Fiddes, who has served on disability advocacy charity Dunedin and Clutha IHC Association committees for more than 44 years.

"I got involved for personal and family reasons ... I’m very interested in social work being a catalyst for change and enabling people to have better lives," she said.

"Clutha IHC Association funds activities, trips, recreational subscriptions and items for three residential houses that government funding does not cover, from donations and legacies, that enables better lives for the residents."

Mrs Fiddes has also volunteered for Red Cross, Meals on Wheels, as well as Clutha Budget Advisory Service and Food Bank, altogether a very deserving Local Legend.
