The Milton Community Library will close tomorrow in preparation for its move to a new, temporary site at Coronation Hall in Union St.

The library will reopen on Monday, December 1 as part of preparations for the Elsie Stewart Community Library & Pool build project.

Clutha District Libraries manager Melissa Ellison said opening hours would stay the same, and visitors could expect "the same friendly service at the new temporary site".

"There is no limit on borrowing during this time, and it is also a great opportunity to chat with staff and find out more about our free online resources, including e-books and audiobooks.

"These can be accessed anytime, including the week that the library will be closed," she said.

While the library collection will be smaller, the full catalogue will remain available, with staff helping to source items from other branches.

A short presentation on using the Clutha district libraries mobile app and the Antenno app was scheduled for today, at 10.30am at the Milton Library.

Book returns can be made through the returns slot at the current site until 5pm on November 28, after which it will close.

Any items due during the closure will be automatically extended until December 10.

Library-related queries during the closure can be made to the Balclutha Community Library on (03) 418-1677.

When the library reopens at Coronation Hall, visitors will have the use of off-street parking at the rear, off Spenser St, as well as on-street parking.
