Milton loses petrol station

One of Milton's three petrol stations has gone into voluntary liquidation.

The township's BP station in the main street was placed in the hands of BDO NZ on September 12 and has remained closed since then.

Sinclair Bros Ltd operates as a BP 2 Go franchise service station, owned by Kevin and Janelle MacKay, of Milton. They bought the business 24 years ago.

The first liquidator's report from BDO shows the company owes Westpac $621,000 and trade creditors $91,527.

A letter to creditors stated deteriorating health issues were affecting the directors' ability to manage the business on a day-to-day basis, leading to the decision to go into liquidation.
