Portrait display coming

An "exciting'' photo exhibition about New Zealand authors is coming to the Balclutha Library next month.

"43 Authors'' has been travelling around New Zealand and will officially open at the library on June 1. Philip Temple and Paddy Richardson, of Dunedin, are featured in it and will speak at the opening.

Clutha District Council library manager Vicki Darling said it was "very exciting'' to have the exhibition come to Balclutha.

It will have official portraits of the 43 New Zealand authors who attended the Frankfurt Book Fair in 2012, photographed by Maja Moritz, and will include information and book recommendations for each author featured.

Mrs Darling said many authors contributed a text especially for the exhibition about how they became authors and what they love the most about writing.

The exhibition will run until July 10, then travel to Dunedin.
