Water schemes in the Clutha District continue to have problems as they struggle with the recent large downpour of rain and warm weather in Central Otago.
A statement from the Clutha District Council said boil water notices still existed for Richardson North and Glenkenich water schemes.
The Glenkenich scheme was filling fast but may take 12 hours for all consumers to receive water.
The water still needed to be boiled for human consumption until further notice.
There was no boil water notice for other areas in the district.
The water in Stirling and Benhar townships, including Cherry Ln, South Bruce and Inch Clutha was still visually cloudy in some areas but "much better'' and safe to drink.
Tuapeka West had no major leaks and the plant was pumping water "flat out' which may take about 12 hours for everyone to have water.
Conditions in the Waitahuna River were causing the plant to struggle producing water.
All reservoirs were very low and customers needed to conserve water until the river conditions improved in these areas.
This included the North Bruce area, Tokoiti, Waihola and Milburn.
This also applied to Kaka Point and the Richardson South Scheme where consumers were advised to be "vigilant'' in conserving water.
The Conserve Water Notice is in place for the entire Clutha District so as to ensure the struggling plants can recover promptly.
This was due to river conditions and the recent warm weather.
