The event, which will be held in the Owaka Memorial Community Centre on August 24, has attracted performers from across South Otago and only a few spots remain.
Owaka Swimming Baths Committee chairwoman Kim Dodds said the annual event was growing in popularity.
''Catlins Got Talent has not only become a consistent funding opportunity, it is also an occasion where we can celebrate and raise the profile of water safety and swimming in our community.''
This event was established in 2010 to help raise funds to heat the Owaka swimming pool, and since 2011 the pool has been heated.
Mrs Dodds said the popularity and success of the event encouraged the committee to run it annually. Money from the event goes towards running costs associated with the swimming pool.
The event received $2500 from The Trusts Community Foundation for sound and lighting.
She said the profile of swimming and the pool itself has become strong within the community, helping to achieve an increase in patronage.
''We are proud to offer a safe and healthy swimming environment, which is run in a professional manner.''
Improvements and maintenance of the facility were ongoing. There were plans to replace the front doors, improve the natural lighting into the changing rooms, and the option of a starting block.
The Catlins Area School had become a strong supporter of the pool, using it four hours a day, Monday to Friday during the seven months it was open, Mrs Dodds said.
''It has been a successful year for the school, with a strong focus on water safety and learn to swim.''
Tiny Carruthers, of Sport Clutha, said the emphasis that the school and wider community had put into swimming was being repaid in full.
''The employment of a professional swim coach, the programme that the school has implemented and the community's hard work in heating and upgrading the pool have been crucial to results so far.''
The swimming teacher was funded by the Catlins Area School Home and School committee. Each year level (excluding senior) receives at least two swimming lessons a week, at no cost to parents.
