This distinctive tool chest was among several items stolen from Milton Panelbeaters on Tuesday night. Police in Milton are appealing for information.
Constable Brian McKinney said a side door on the Elderlee St premises of Milton Panelbeaters was kicked in and many tools taken.
These included a KC Tools chest worth $4500, a mig welder and large gas bottle, a sandblaster, orbital sander and grinder.
Const McKinney said the burglary happened some time between 5pm on Tuesday and 8.30am on Wednesday.
At least two people would have been involved because many of the stolen items were very heavy and a utility vehicle or vehicle with a trailer would have been needed to carry out the thefts.
He urged anyone who had either seen the stolen tools or been approached to buy any power and hand tools to contact Milton Police Station confidentially on (03) 417-8203.
