Sales and marketing manager Pat Robertson (27) was awarded the inaugural Australasian Promotional Product Association Generation Next Award in Sydney last month.
He said the award was nominated by the company's customers and was a reflection of how they valued input to the industry.
''You have to be at the top of your game.
''It's a small industry and so much goes under the radar ... but it's competitive and challenging. You have to be the most innovative.''
His father and company co-owner Jim Robertson said he was very proud of Pat and it was an amazing victory for a Lawrence boy.
''I'm delighted to see him win it ... and the changes he has brought to the company. Pat has a great understanding of what younger generations want - he's made a big difference to the company.''
Tuapeka Gold Print was also named New Zealand's best supplier for the third time.
''It's given us quite a bit of credibility, and it's a credit to the team for all their hard work,'' Jim Robertson said.
Pat Robertson said the nominations from customers came at a trying time for the business.
''We won it at the time of the warehouse disaster [snow damaged the warehouse].
''It's a credit to our staff to be able to carry on as usual ... out of action for three days without production and then the warehouse collapsed.''
