Emergency crews attend a collision at Kuriwao, north of Clinton, on State Highway 1 yesterday afternoon.

A police spokeswoman said a truck and a utility vehicle collided shortly before 2.30pm.

Appliances were sent from Balclutha and Waiwera South, a Fire and Emergency New Zealand communications spokesman said.

Fenz services were not required to rescue anyone as nobody was trapped in either of the vehicles, the spokesman said.

A St John spokesman said two patients with moderate injuries were transported to Clutha Health First in Balclutha by ambulance.

Our journalists are your neighbours

We are the South's eyes and ears in crucial council meetings, at court hearings, on the sidelines of sporting events and on the frontline of breaking news.

As our region faces uncharted waters in the wake of a global pandemic, Otago Daily Times continues to bring you local stories that matter.

We employ local journalists and photographers to tell your stories, as other outlets cut local coverage in favour of stories told out of Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch.
