An extreme makeover for a Kaitangata woman's garden will take place later this month, with television cameras capturing every moment of the project.
Trish Pain received the surprise of her life early last month when the Mucking In television series, fronted by Jim Mora, arrived at her workplace, the Balclutha Link Centre, to reveal her garden would be getting a free makeover.
Mrs Pain was nominated by her colleagues, who said she deserved recognition for her work in both mental health and with youngsters at the Clutha Country Music Club.
The programme's garden designers then visited her garden and have come up with designs for a new-look garden area.
They, the film crew and others will arrive at Mrs Pain's house next Friday where she will be farewelled and sent on a surprise weekend getaway.
While she is away, up to 35 volunteers start work on the project, which will take all weekend before the garden is revealed to Mrs Pain late on Sunday, December 14.
The episode will screen sometime in the new year although Television New Zealand cannot yet confirm when.
