An Invercargill man has been charged with attempted murder and aggravated robbery following a "vicious" attack last month.
Police said this afternoon the 27-year-old Invercargill man was charged over an attack on a man at the corner of Ythan and Janet Sts, in Appleby, Invercargill, on Friday, February 16.
The man is due to appear in Invercargill District Court today.
A 16-year-old man was already facing charges in relation to the assault and would also be facing a charge of attempted murder when he next appeared in the Invercargill Youth Court, police said.
The 23-year-old victim had been released from hospital after the "vicious" attack and was recovering in the care of his family.
Police believed there were others involved in this incident and wanted to hear from anyone had information.
