Menzies College art pupils (from left) Anna Poole (15), Charissa Stewart (14) and Kendal Walker (15) put the final touches to their Wayne Thiebaud-style cupcakes.
They studied American artist Wayne Thiebaud, whose most famous works are of cakes, pastries, boots, toilets, toys and lipsticks, painted in the 1950s and 1960s.
Menzies College pupils studied his painting techniques by baking and icing their own cupcakes. They then photographed them, ate them and then painted them in Wayne Thiebaud style from the photo.
