The Wanaka Bowling Club is celebrating the continuing success of its talented competitors, Rae Hammond and Raewyn Hall, who were in winning form at the Alexandra Bowling Club on November 24.

The bowlers won the Central Otago Arvida Country Club 1-5 pairs — playing 5 years and under — beating the Omakau pair, Julie Jeffery and Pauline Huddleston, with a score of 11-6 in the final.

Hammond and Hall were unbeaten in the qualifiers.

It was not the first win for Hall who won two years previously and Hammond was runner up last year.

Also in the competition were Helen Allison and rookie Suzanne Ewing, who had very close results against the winners and runners up in the qualifier and nearly made the semifinals.

In the men’s section, Ross Niles and Ross Hammond just missed out on qualifying.

They had three wins in their qualifiers but needed to finish in the top four on points countback.
