Hawea’s 15th annual Town v Country Waitangi Day Challenge at Peter Fraser Park included a 45-minute team orienteering event on Hawea lakefront for the first time.
Twenty-four teams lined up to receive information and maps before the start of the race and organisers said despite only 13 teams getting to every control, there there were no tears; everyone enjoyed it and most said they would be back next year.
