One person has died following a single-car crash in the Buller district.
Police said they were alerted about 8.35pm yesterday that a car had gone off Mai Mai Valley Rd.
Emergency services attended and a person was declared deceased at the scene.
A second person in the car had minor injuries.
The circumstances of the crash will be investigated.
