State Highway 73 (West Coast Road) is blocked following a serious motorcycle crash in Arthur's Pass.
One person with serious injuries has been transported by helicopter to Christchurch Hospital.
The Serious Crash Unit has been notified.
The road is expected to reopen late afternoon.
